This exhibit will present more than 20 recent acquisitions that represent the full range of the College's art collection and celebrate the first full decade of the new Museum of Art and the Center for the Arts. Included is a Chinese Jun Ware Meiping vase, and a number of prints, drawings, and photographs.

•Conversations with Traditions: Nilima Sheikh and Shahzia Sikander
September 12 - December 1, 2002

This exhibit will include almost 50 works by two female South Asian artists, both of whom draw on traditional techniques of Indian miniature painting in their art. Their work shares a common beginning in its reflection of the scale and composition of Indian court-style painting, but it diverges to explore two separate yet equally dynamic relationships with pre-modern artistic traditions and contemporary art practices.
