"A Chinese Paradise" by Zhang Jian
December 1 - December 8, 2001 | ||||
| Zhang Jian masterfully utilizes a palette that reflects his personal vision of China. Many of the scenes of girls and people in the park were based on parks in Beijing, a city that is notoriously gray and dusty due to winds blowing sand from the Mongolian plains. The unusual and abundant shades of green that reveals the artistŐs imaginative and positive vision of China at its most fruitful and promising period, that is both free from past cynicism and exudes a relaxed and inviting attitude to outside influences. | ||||
