			The exhibit will not rely on any grand theme or heavy curatorial statement; rather, it will be an open exhibition of works from Para/Site friends and members, with attention focused on the individual artist. Over 30 artists will show works of their own interest and manners.
		•Start from the Body...: Painting by Sin Yuen March 20 - April 28, 2002
			When many local artists gave up their paints and brushes for trendy mixed-media and ready-made installation objects in the 90s, Sin Yuen persisted in making art with traditional tools and materials. Nevertheless, her subject matter and the presentation are obviously contemporary unconventional forms painted on silk with acrylics. For this exhibit, spheres, cushions and other geometrical objects covered by silk became her canvas. The audience will find many small but meticulously-painted motifs, such as hair and fingernails, on the silk objects. With predominantly earth-tone colours, Sin Yuen depicts these human tokens of growth and death in such a way that personalizes the space, so that it can be shared by the audience.
