Do-Ho Suh
April 23 - May 26, 2002 | ||||
| Do-Ho Suh's sculptural and architectural installations draw on his experiences in both his native and adopted countries and explore the themes of cultural displacement and identity. For Some/One (2001), the artist has used thousands of military style 'dog-tags' to form a sculpture resembling a royal garment or ancient armour with a train that extends over the floor of the gallery. This exhibit will also include Suh's large-scale textile pieces -- a series of interior spaces rendered in diaphanous silk and nylon based on the interiors of his homes in both Korea and New York. | ||||
