Splendour in Wood: The Buddhist Monasteries of Burma, Sylvia Fraser-Lu

In a lecture illustrated with photography from her travels in Upper, Lower, and Central Burma and the Shan States, she discussed the development of Buddhism and monasteries in Burma, the role of monks and monasteries in society, and the process of building a monastery. She also describes the architectural features and floor plans unique to the monasteries of Burma.
