| Landscape has been a major theme of art in the modern era, and it has played an important part in Japanese painting since the Meiji restoration. It has also occupied a significant position in photography and other areas of contemporary art, stimulating the creativity of numerous artists up to the present. This exhibition, drawn mainly from the collection of the Setagaya Art Museum, presents approximately 150 examples of landscape art, including Western-style painting, Japanese-style painting, prints, photography, and contemporary painting. It provides an opportunity to observe the views of nature, time, and the world found in these works of art as well as a chance to reconsider the issues of realism and abstraction. | ||||
