Sally Michelson Davidson
Professor of Chinese Arts and Cultures. Scholarly interests include
Chinese Art, especially Warring States through the Song Dynasty,
with special focus on art and politics, word and image issues,
traditional Chinese theories of art, epistemology and style, and
the critique of modern constructions of Chinese culture. Publications
include "Discourses of Representation in Tenth- and Eleventh-Century
China" (1995) and Art and Political Expression in Early
