HIGH MUSEUM OF ART

The slide set for the High Museum in Atlanta features the outstanding collection of American paintings owned by the museum. A number of fine nineteenth century landscapes by Bierstadt, Heade, Innes, and Moran are included as well as several portraits (by Copley, Charles Wilson Peale, Rembrandt Peale, Sully, Healy, Sargent, Henri, Bellows, and Sloan), which trace the development of American portraiture. In addition, the High Museum Collection includes a group of paintings by Italian masters from the fourteenth through eighteenth centuries, acquired through a bequest of the Kress Foundation. A total of 150 slides are included in the set, seventy-two full views and seventy-eight details.
