While Patrick Young was in Florence, photographing
the Andrea del Sarto exhibition, he went to Santa Felicita and
photographed the Capponi Chapel by Jacopo Pontormo. In the chapel
is a painting of the Deposition, and four panels depicting each
of the evangelists, as well as a fresco of the Annunciation. Mr.
Young also made a visit to Volterra, where he photographed two
important paintings by Rosso Fiorentino, the Deposition and The
Madonna Enthroned with Saints John the Baptist and Bartholomew.
This small but extraordinary set includes twenty details as well
as a view of the San Carlo Chapel in which the Rosso Deposition
was originally placed.
