In the early 1960's Baron Thyssen-Bornemisza
purchased his first German expressionist painting by Emile Nolde.
Since then, his interest in twentieth century art has grown into
a stunning collection. While many of his twentieth century paintings
have been shown in the United States, this is the first exhibition
to feature his collection of Expressionist and "Neue Sachlishkeit"
paintings.
Included in this set are 22 of the 34 paintings exhibited, with
29 details. Nine of the remaining twelve paintings are available
in our set Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection: Twentieth Century Masters.
