THE TIMBERLINE LODGE

The Timberline Lodge, located on the southern slope of Mount Hood near Portland, Oregon, was built under the Works Progress Administration in 1936-37. The Lodge represents one of the finest examples of twentieth-century architecture to be constructed by this government agency. The interior is complemented with hand crafted wood, wrought iron, weaving, stained glass, mosaics and paintings. The wood furniture, mosaics, paintings and wrought iron work are all original. The hand woven rugs, the upholstery, and the appliqué draperies and bedspreads are re-creations of the originals produced under the direction the Friends of Timberline. Their fabric, color and designs follow the WPA records and old photographs in an effort to create exact reproductions of the originals. The set consists of sixty-five slides depicting the Lodge and the unique furnishings that demonstrate the skill and pride of the local craftsmen and artists. Included in the set are slides illustrating the ground and first floor plans and copies from old photographs showing the construction and workmen engaged in the depression era government project.
This set of 65 slides sells for $162.50.

Individual slides are not available from this set. You must buy the entire set.
