| The Slide Distribution Projects at the University of Michigan ceased operation in December 2006. More Information about this here. These webpages are porvided as reference only and do not indicate that slide images are available for purchase. The UMSD was a not-for-profit organization established in 1982 by the Department of the History of Art at the University of Michigan. From 1982 through 2006, the UMSD functioned as a service to the educational community. The project concentrated on photographing and distributing, at an affordable price, slides of art objects from exhibitions, distinguished private collections, and the permanent collections of major American and European museums. The project also photographs and distributes slides of major Architectural sites which include sculptural monuments. |
| The project's philosophy was to facilitate the teaching of the history of art by making high quality duplicate slides available to all non-profit educational institutions and professional educators at an affordable price. In 1993 we reorganized our operations to accommodate offering our slides for sale in sets designed by the purchaser. Please note that the St. Louis Art Museum allowed sales only to non-profit educational institutions, not individual professional educators. |
