Dear Readers:
Welcome to the official site of the Michigan Journal of History.
The Michigan Journal of History (MJH) is a biannual publication, which seeks to publish original historically themed research papers written by undergraduate students from across the United States. Founded in 2001, the Journal is staffed by a group of dedicated undergraduates from the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor with a passion for history.
Each academic semester, MJH publishes the top submissions in an online format. Submissions from previous semesters may be found in the Journal’s archives.
In recognition of the multifaceted nature of history, MJH actively encourages submissions that incorporate perspectives and themes from various disciplines, including but not limited to: history, anthropology, political science, law, international studies, area studies, ethnic studies as well as gender and sexuality studies. Successful submissions will demonstrate a central historical theme.
If you are either a current undergraduate or you have graduated within the past semester, the Journal would like to encourage you to submit a paper for consideration. Please see the “Submissions” page for further details.
Thanks for your interest in the Michigan Journal of History.
Editor-in-Chief,
Conor Lane
