The University of Michigan Women's ice hockey team operates as a club which participates in intercollegiate competition within the CCWHA (Central Collegiate Women's Hockey Association) and the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association. We are a competitive team. However, we also have a lot of fun. As a club team, members pay to play and coaches volunteer. In addition, we do not recruit or give scholarships.

CCWHA teams include: University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Ohio State University, Northern Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, Lindenwood University and Western Michigan University.

ACHA teams include: All the CCWHA teams, Pennsylvania State University, Robert Morris College,University of Buffalo, University of Minnesota, University of Colorado, Lindenwood University, University of Wisconsin, University of Massachusetts, and many more. For more information on the ACHA go to www.achahockey.org

The team is comprised of 20 members: 2 goalies, and 18 skaters. There are 3 on-ice practices each week, an off ice-practice once a week, 2 games each weekend, as well as weekly team functions. Currently, our practice ice times are as follows:

Tuesday: 6-7:20 am

Wednesday: 6-6:50 am

Thursday: 5:30-6:50 pm

Games are generally on Friday and Saturday evenings with half being home games, and half being away games. The season runs from tryouts at the end of September to CCWHA playoffs at the end of February. There is also a national tournament in March. Ability varies from player to player, but we encourage all students at the University to try out each fall, regardless of past experience.

Tryouts for the 2007-2008 season have been completed. If you are still interested in joining the team or would like further information, contact: reuterra@umich.edu.
