M Healthy! Are U? Michigan Healthy Community is a campus-wide effort to encourage healthier living through increased activity, attention to physical safety in the workplace, and other health and wellness efforts. MHealthy aims to promote discussion and motivate commitment to well-being by embracing health as a community. It will harness the latest thinking and creative ideas from across the University to develop an ambitious plan to foster health campus wide.


Ergonomics Awareness is celebrating National Ergonomics Month with its 3rd Annual Grants and Awards Program!

Applications are being accepted from Oct. 1 - 31 for the Third Annual MHealthy Ergonomic Grant and Awards program. University departments can apply to receive funds to make their work area safer and be recognized as a model for creating a safe and healthy work environment.

Register for the MHealthy Fall Fitness Challenge 2008

MHealthy has launched a new fall physical activity program for U-M faculty, staff, graduate students and retirees.  The MHealthy Fall Fitness Challenge is a six-week physical activity program designed to get you moving to maintain your current body weight and measurements.
Register now through September 23. The program runs September 23 through November 4.

ACTIVE U COMES BACK STRONG

The third annual eight-week Active U effort drew the highest participation yet among faculty and staff with 9,984 signing up to log weekly activity minutes — up from 7,500 last year. Participants also donated more than $24,000 to charity.

But what do cost increases that more than double and threaten to triple inflation mean to our nation, to the University, to us? How did we get here and where do we go now? These are among the questions leaders of Michigan Healthy Community hope to address through a new awareness program called HealthSense: Managing the Rising Cost of Health Care.
