M-Pathways and U-M Data Warehouse training and documentation
Michigan Administrative Information Services (MAIS) is the administrative department at The University of Michigan that designs, implements, and supports U-M administrative information systems and processes. These systems include “M-Pathways” systems – Financials/Physical Resources System, Human Resources Management System, and Student Administration System – as well as the Development/Alumni Constituency (DAC) System and numerous smaller systems that support various aspects of the University's business.
Web-based learning:
The MAIS Learning & Information Center (MAIS LINC) is an integrated, web-based solution for administrative systems training, documentation, and communications. It is available to University employees who have access to any of the M-Pathways systems and/or access to the U-M Data Warehouse. MAIS LINC provides access to the most recent M-Pathways training materials and reference documentation, including interactive software simulations, printable step-by-step procedures and quick reference sheets, and e-learning courses. MAIS LINC users can also view their personalized M-Pathways training transcripts, upcoming training, and other training-related information – all from a single location.
Resources are added to MAIS LINC on an ongoing basis. MAIS LINC can be accessed via the Wolverine Access Gateway: http://wolverineaccess.umich.edu.
Classroom training:
MAIS coordinates a training program that prepares U-M staff to use the M-Pathways systems and the U-M Data Warehouse. Instructors are functional experts from the central business offices, academic units, and MAIS who understand the business processes supported by the systems.
Course descriptions and class schedules are located at http://www.mais.umich.edu/training/index.html
U-M's administrative data resources are available to staff who need them to perform their jobs. In most cases, U-M staff members are required to complete training to obtain access to the systems. Faculty and staff can request access to U-M's administrative data resources by submitting an authorization form provided on the MAIS website: http://www.mais.umich.edu/access/accessprocess.html
In some cases, training can be offered to staff members who want to learn about these systems for career advance opportunities, but who don’t need access for their current positions. Contact MAIS Access Services to learn about this option: 734-936-7000 option 2.
