letters 'SC' by a country indicate it is presently a member of the
UN Security Council. At MIMUN, the Security Council is intended
for more advanced delegates, as the committee seats only 15 nations,
(5 of which have veto power) and it tackles extremely complex and
charged topics. The asterisk (*) next to 'SC' indicates which nations
are permanent members of the Security Council and thus have veto
power.
