We're putting on a special rendering workshop this Saturday featuring a guest instructor all the way from the Cleveland Institute of Art. She will teach how to take simple line drawings to finished rendered work in Photoshop. This currently isn't taught in any classed offered at A&D but it's an important skill when applying for jobs and internships. So come check it out!

The A&D School's Design Show will begin this Friday, March 13th. The show will be in Slusser Gallery at the Art School and will go through April 3rd. The opening reception will be Friday the 13th from 6pm-9pm. Feel free to join, or if you have any questions, please email starcher@umich.edu.   There will be food and music as well!

mIDSA will be putting on a website design presentation. The speaker is Peter Baker, owner of the local programming firm Elevated Works and 2000 Art & Design alumni.

This is NOT a Dreamweaver class. You will be learning how to handwrite code websites the proper way, in order to make your own websites and to get jobs making them for others. You've had enought theory, now get some practical knowledge that will get you started on your career.

mIDSA will be traveling to the Detroit Auto Show this year on January 24th. $20 will cover all expenses. The pickup will be at 8:30am at the Art Building or the Michigan Union.

March 5th we will be baking cookies at 7pm at Kristina's house to sell Thursday March 6th at the art school as people leave for the Penny Stamps lecture.

We will be going to the district conference April 11th-13th in Columbus, Ohio.

To raise money to go to this conference, Tuesday March 4th we will be selling bagels at the art school from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM.

Alex Lee, and Art & Design Alumnus is offering a screen printing workshop on Saturday, March 8th at noon. The workshop will be offered at the Neutral Zone on Washington between Fifth Ave and Division Street. A few of us with cars will be meeting at the art school to drive some students there. If you live near the Neutral Zone, please feel free just to meet us there at noon. I will need a confirmed head count for Alex by THIS Tuesday so he knoews what supplies he needs to order.
