Bishop of the Diocese of Lowicz since 1982, Alojzy Orszulik (b. 1928)
co-organized and participated in the Round Table negotiations as an
observer for the Catholic Church. He received his master's degree in canon
law from the Catholic University of Lublin in 1961 and was a lecturer in
this field until 1989. Bishop Orszulik has held several positions in the
Polish Episcopate including Director of the Press Department (1968-93) and
Deputy to the Secretary (1989-94). He has served as a member and Secretary
of the Joint Commission of the Government and Episcopate of Poland since
1980 and has been a consultant to the Papal Council for Social Media since
1974.
