China Statistical Yearbook  is an official publication by the China Statistical Publication House of the State Statistical Bureau of the People's Republic of China. It is published in both English and Chinese.  It includes data in the following categories: administrative division and natural resources; general survey, population; employment and wage; investment in fixed assets; public finance; prices; people's livelihood; agriculture; industry; energy and production materials; transportation, postal and telecommunication services; construction; domestic trade; foreign trade and tourism; banking and insurance; urban development; education, science, patents and culture; sports, health care, social welfare and others.

The 1998 CD version of yearbook includes digital tables for both the 1997 and 1998 yearbooks. The 1998 yearbook contains national and provincial data for the year 1997, as well as major time series of national indices from 1949-1997.

 (327 bytes) The 1990 China County Boundary GIS Data

The 1990 China county boundary GIS Data was developed by a team from CIESIN , CASM (Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping) and CITAS (China in Time and Space, a joint project of University of Washington, University of Michigan, University of California at Davis and CIESIN). The data is at a scale of one to one million (1:1M) and stored in ARC/INFO(r) export format. The data includes geographical locations, areas, provincial names, county names, local names, and codes for each administrative division.

 (327 bytes) The 1990 Population Census and Agriculture Data at County-Level

The 1990 Population Census and Agriculture Data were developed by CITAS (China in Time and Space) project funded by CIESIN under the NASA grant NASG-2901 and the Ford Foundation grant No.995-0669. The data is stored in dBase IV(r) and ARC/INFO(r) export formats, which can be linked to the 1990 China county boundary GIS map. The population census data includes: Urban-Rural Residence, Age-Sex distribution, Education, Illiteracy, Marital status, Births, Deaths, Immigrants, Industrial/Economic activities, Occupation, and Ethnicity. The agriculture data includes: Rural population, Rural labor force, Rural labor force in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishing, Labor force in rural industry, Areas of landuse, Agricultural consumption, Agricultural mechanization and Agricultural outputs.

The 1990/1991 Provincial Economic Yearbook Data was developed by the CITAS (China in Time and Space) project funded by CIESIN under the NASA grant NASG-2901 and the Ford Foundation grant No.995-0669. The County-Level Data is stored in dBase IV(r) and in ARC/INFO(r), which can be linked to 1990 China county boundary GIS map. The data includes: natural resources, population, employment, wage, finance, prices, people's livelihood, agriculture, construction, industry, energy, production materials, transportation, postal and telecommunication services, environmental, education, science, patents, culture, banking, insurance, trade, tourism, sports, health care, and social welfare.
