Instruction to Authors

To assure timely and efficient printing with a consistent and easily read format, authors must submit their manuscripts in strict conformance with these guidelines. The Organising Committee may omit any paper that does not conform to the specified requirements.

  1. Manuscript should be written in English and between 3,000 to 8,000 words. Each paper is strictly limited to fifteen pages, including abstract, figures, tables and references.
  2. Manuscript must be submitted in both digital (electronic version) and hard copy (paper) forms. It is critical that the hard copy and digital forms are identical. Hard copy sent by fax will not be accepted. The digital copy should be in one of the following formats: WordPerfect 5.1, Rich Text Format (RTF), Microsoft Word for Windows 2.0, Word 6/95 or Word 97. Files may be sent in ASCII format if none of that format doesn't apply to your paper.
  3. Manuscript should be formatted according to the following specifications (see sample document for other specifications):
  1. Font: 11 pt Times Roman.
  2. Spacing: use single spacing within and between paragraphs, use double spacing between headings.
  3. Paper size: International A4 size (297 x 210 mm), set margins at 2.54 cm left, right, bottom, and top. No header or footer please.
  4. Tables and figures: tables and figures should be inserted in the text. Each table or figure should be numbered and must be accompanied by a caption.
  5. Units and symbols: the SI system (e.g. metric units) should be used.
  1. Page numbers: DO NOT type/print page number on the manuscript, use a pencil to write the page number on the back of each page.
  2. The general layout of the manuscript is as follows (see SAMPLE attached):
    1. Title of the paper (boldface and centred) and the full names, job titles, affiliations, address, telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address of all authors (centred)
    2. Abstract of paper (200 words or less)
    3. Main text with sections and sub-sections.
    4. Acknowledgements and appendices, if any.
    5. References (see below).
  1. References. Titles of books and periodicals should be given in full, not abbreviated. References should be cited in the text, for example, (Tomlinson, 1987). The full citations should be listed in alphabetical order in the reference section. The following arrangement should be used.

Do not indent the first paragraph after the heading.

Indent 0.75cm for the subsequent paragraphs. Paragraphs should be justified. When itemizing statements, the following system of presentation should be used.

  1. the alphabet system instead of number system should be adopted;
  2. each alphabet should be closed with a right bracket as indicated here;
  3. statements should end with a semicolon (;) or a period (.); and
  4. statements should be indented.

Equations should be numbered with number at the right, indented, with a single empty line before and after. For example,

x = a + by (1)
