MA Degree Programs The Center for Japanese Studies offers various MA degree programs in Japanese studies that allow students maximum flexibility to pursue their own interests within the limits of the degree requirements. The programs are designed to enable students to develop competence in the Japanese language and substantial research and writing skills in at least three disciplines; they also offer students the opportunity to explore related courses of theoretical or methodological interest and courses that bring Japan into a comparative focus.
