The manual and accompanying checklist for graduate and professional students on this web site are intended to provide general suggestions and guidance for those of you who will be doing research, work, or study abroad during your careers at UM. It is not country-specific, nor does it speak to the requirements of any single school or college at UM. Rather, it is designed to guide you in your preparations for traveling abroad and to provide a series of suggestions for what you need to do before you go abroad and what you can expect when you arrive on site.
This is the first edition of the handbook, and we would very much like to have your feedback for what you found useful, what you would recommend be revised, and what additional topics or issues you would suggest be included in the future. These can be sent to the Office of International Programs at oip@umich.edu.
I hope that your experience abroad fulfills all your goals and is as good as you have anticipated it will be!
