The mission of the School of Art & Design's undergraduate and graduate Design Studies Program is to prepare the future practitioners and educators in art and design in the areas of design history, design theory, design criticism, design issues, design management and professional practice. The program is nationally unique in it's comprehensive approach to design studies and the cultivation of integrated critical thinking, evaluation, and innovation skills through research, verbal and written discourse, cross disciplinary collaboration, and field projects.
