Choosing a Residence Hall

Over 9500 students live in one of Michigan's 18 residence halls each year. Although there are differences that make each hall unique, all U-M residence halls include live-in staff (providing both social and academic support), community centers, on-site laundry, easy access to the free and frequent University bus system and much more. Visit http://housing.umich.edu/reshalls/overviews for detailed information about each residence hall, including pictures. And keep in mind that there is no criteria for "best" — features that are great for one student might be completely different for another student.

Getting a Taxi

Absolutely, though you cannot just hail one on the street. You may find a cab sitting in one of these spots: outside the Michigan Union, at the Amtrak station, or on the southwest corner of Main and Washington downtown. Otherwise it's best to call a taxi company to request a pick-up. You can find a listing of all taxi companies on this website: http://www.visitannarbor.org/index.php/plan_a_visit/search/taxi/
