The "Community of Scholars" is a graduate fellowship program that supports graduate students at the University of Michigan planning or conducting research, scholarship, or creative activities focusing on women or gender. Fellowships are awarded either for the summer, or for summer and fall. IRWG is particularly committed to creating environments in which a community of scholars come together for cross-disciplinary exchange. To that end, this program requires awardees to participate in a weekly seminar for two months during the summer, and to make a public presentation of their work during the academic year.
