THE INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL 2000

Date: September/21/ 2000
Time: 11-4pm
Place: DIAG

Purpose:

The purpose of the festival is to educate University of Michigan students and staff about your own country, such as its geographic location, society, religion, culture and tradition. This is an excellent opportunity for international student groups to promote their cultures, organizations, and events to other students. It would truly be an exciting moment when we could get together to celebrate and share our cultural heritages with everyone on this campus!

The Program: (For details, please click here >> )

An international festival featuring international student groups from around campus. The showcase will feature international booths, multimedia presentations, international dance and music performances, games and raffles, as well as international cuisine from around the world! A program of the festivities will be available at the Diag entrance. The event could provide entertainment as well as an educational experience for those who would like to know more about certain countries and international groups.

Our Progress:

We have already started working on fund raising for the festival. We are contacting school departments for facilities and other resources, so that we will be able to share these resources with you. You are the representative of our international community and that is why we would like to help you get as much as possible out of this project. Since the festival is going to be educational, the ISN has received and continues to receive support from many school departments and offices. Today, we would like to ask for your participation in ISN as well, because this group was formed and is designed to work for YOU, and YOUR participation is essential for its success.

We would also like to invite you to join the Planning Committee which is going to carry out the International Festival project. In sincere hope that this project will not only involve many international groups, but also as a starting point for all the student organizations to communicate better, to have greater cohesion and relationship, and to set up a good network for future co-operations, we look forward to hearing from you, so we can work together in the days to come. Thank you very much, friends.

Sincerely,

The International Student Network (ISN)
