Driving Directions to Wide World Sports

Note: Due to construction on I-94, we are proposing the following routes:

From the West

From the West via I-94: Follow I-94 East to Exit 169 for Zeeb Road. Follow Zeeb Road south for 2 miles to Scio Church Road. Turn left onto Scio Church Road and head east for 3 miles to Oak Valley Drive. Turn right onto Oak Valley Drive. Wide World Sports is on the right.

From the West via I-96: Follow I-96 east to Exit 148A for US-23 South. Head south on US-23 for 15 miles to Exit 45 for M-14 West. On M-14 West, stay in the right lane and use Exit 3 (only a mile or so from US-23). Heads Up! Exit 3 is just past Exit 4! Exit 3 puts you onto Main Street heading south. Proceed south on Main Street (you'll go thru downtown Ann Arbor and past the Michigan Football Stadium) for about 2 miles to Scio Church Road. Turn right onto Scio Church Road and head east for a mile or so. Just after you cross I-94, turn left onto Oak Valley Drive. Wide World Sports will be on your right.

From the East

From the East via I-94: From I-94 West, use Exit 181A for Michigan Ave / US-12 heading West/South (toward Saline). Proceed for about 1 miles to Carpenter Road. Turn Right onto Carpenter Road and head North for about 2 miles to Ellsworth. Turn Left onto Ellsworth and proceed west for about 3 miles to Oak Valley Drive (about a half mile west of State Street). Turn right onto Oak Valley Drive and follow it for about 2 miles to Wide World Sports, which will be on your left.

From the East via M-14: Follow M-14 West to Exit 3. Heads Up! M-14 joins US-23 briefly, then splits off. Also, Exit 3 is immediately past Exit 4! When you cross I-94, turn left onto Oak Valley Drive. Wide World Sports will be on your right.

From the South

From the South via US-23: Follow US-23 northbound to Exit 34 for Michigan Avenue / US-12. Turn right and head northeast for about mile to Carpenter Road. Turn Left onto Carpenter Road and head North for about 2 miles to Ellsworth. Turn Left onto Ellsworth and proceed west for about 3 miles to Oak Valley Drive (about a half mile west of State Street). Turn right onto Oak Valley Drive and follow it for about 2 miles to Wide World Sports, which will be on your left.

From the North

From the North via US-23: Head south on US-23 to Exit 45 for M-14 West.

From within Ann Arbor

From Scio Church Road: Find the intersection of Scio Church Road and Oak Valley Drive. (Oak Valley Drive intersects with Scio Church Road about halfway between Wagner Road and Seventh Street). Head south from the intersection. Wide World Sports is on the right (west side of the street) just south of Scio Church Road

Traffic conditions from AAA Michigan.

Although we don't recommend this until construction is finished, here are the regular driving directions to Wide World Sports:

From I-94: Take Exit 175, Ann Arbor-Saline Road, and head south for about a quarter mile. Turn right onto Oak Valley Drive and follow it for about 1.5 miles. The road eventually heads north. Wide World Sports is on the left (west side of the street) just before you get to Scio Church Road.

Directions to the Diag

Sunday you're welcome to join us for a relaxed day of juggling outdoors on the diag (map).

The Diag is a large, grassy, tree-shaded quadrangle in the middle of the University of Michigan Central Campus. It's located about 200 yards south of the Burton Memorial Tower, an 8-story Bell Tower which is visible from many points around town. The Diag is located just east of State Street and just north of South University Street, about 2 miles north of the I-94/State Street Exit (Exit 177), but you can't really see it from those streets because it's surrounded by academic buildings. We usually juggle on the northeast side of the Diag where there's more shade and open space. (The Diag is about 2 blocks west of the Church Street Parking Structure.)

Typically, street parking is easy to find close to the diag Sundays this time of year.

Directions to East Hall

This is our rain location for Sunday. (map).

From State Street: Find the intersection of State Street and South University. These two streets meet in front of the Michigan Union, about 2 miles north of the I-94/State Street Exit (Exit 177). From State Street, head east on South University Street for three or four blocks to Church Street. Turn left; East Hall is located on the west side of Church Street, just north of South University Street. (East Hall is approximately 2 blocks east of the Diag.) If conditions are not suitable for juggling on the Diag, we will be in East Hall in the South Atrium. We recommend that you park in the Church Street Parking Structure, directly across the street from East Hall.

Church Street Parking Structure

For the diag or East Hall, we recommend that you park in the Church Street Parking Structure, directly across the street from East Hall. You can park there for free on Sundays, although you may not park on the first level. The Diag is about 2 blocks west of the Church Street Parking Structure.

Other Transportation

The nearest major airport is Detroit Metro Airport (DTW).

Ann Arbor also has Amtrak and Greyhound stations.

See the AATA website for information on local buses. To get to Wide World Sports from downtown, take bus 15 from Blake Transit Center (at 5th and William) to Scio Church and Waltham, then walk west (over the freeway) to Oak Valley Drive, and turn left; the sports center will be farther down on your right. Total walking distance is about two thirds of a mile.
