![]() This year, more than 211,300 women in the United States will learn for the first time that they have breast cancer, and more than 39,800 women will lose their lives. Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women in America; however, early detection and prompt treatment can significantly reduce the suffering and deaths caused by this disease. alpha Kappa Delta Phi, the largest nationwide Asian-American interest sorority, proudly promotes our National Philanthropy - Breast Cancer Awareness, a project which is dedicated to increasing public knowledge about the early detection of breast cancer. alpha Kappa Delta Phi at the University of Michigan held an annual Breast Cancer Charity Ball in October and donated all it's proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. Last year we raised over $1500 for the foundation through the charity ball and our charity ball after party. This year, we are having our 1st annual Breast Cancer Charity Event "Think Pink". ![]() |
