Acarush
Uclub of the Union7PM
Free Event!

This event features all MACC-affiliated a cappella groups on campus. Every group will sing one song during the mini concert, and afterward, you can meet the members at their booths and sign up for an audition. Our song for this year's Acarush is a Jackson 5 medley, so be sure to stop by to get your MJ fix!

Festifall
Central Campus Diag 11AM-4PM
Free Event!

This is an annual event where you can browse around most of the student organizations on campus! We will have a booth set up, so come talk to us, sign up for auditions, or get some free stuff!

Audition Format

We know that auditions can be really intimidating, so we've provided this guide to lay the process out for you. Nervous about not having sung/beatboxed in a group before? No worries! We would love to hear your beautiful voice/beats anyway! Here's how auditions work:

We have a preliminary stage where we test you on vocal flexibility, tone, listening ability, music reading skills, blending, and style. Next, if we invite you for callbacks, we will focus on your ability to blend in with the group vocally and personally. The key to these auditions is to get lots of rest, practice, and just be yourself!

What to expect:
一. Scales and Arpeggios - These are for warm-ups and for us to gauge your range.
二. Sight-reading - To test your ability to read music, you will sight-read sheet music that we will provide for you.
三. Tonal Memory - To test your music listening/learning ability, we will play a short melody for you 3 times, and you will sing it back.
四. Your Solo - Pick a song that you LOVE and KNOW will highlight your voice! (Chorus and verse only, please. Max 1 min.). If we stop you before you're done, please don't worry! We're only trying to make sure that we don't run out of time!
五. Fun Questions - Fun for us, perhaps not for you. ;D
六. Audition Duration - Approximately 15 minutes.
