mission statement

LANAMA was founded in 1985 to provide a more welcoming environment for our Native American and Latino/a medical students at the University of Michigan Medical School. Beyond nurturing an atmosphere of la familia, we are committed to increasing the enrollment and success of Latino/a and Native medical students through our community outreach and other service efforts. Our commitments to recruitment and community service are driven by the pressing need to address the alarming health disparities of the Latino and Native communities.
