General Resources
  • WiFitv and Tv4all: Add two cups of international tv, a teaspoon of streaming live, and a dash of dozens of channels and you've got yourself a hot little meal! They're awesome, check 'em out.
  • BBC Multi-language portal: Upper-right corner you can select the BBC news in 12+ languages. Alright.
  • Omniglot: This site has an enormous amount of information on just about every language imaginable!
  • Languages on the Web: Great place to find links for different cultures and languages.
  • Flags of the World : A great site with thousands of flags on it. There is also the historical and cultural background for each flag.
  • Google Scholar Beta : Though still in the Beta form, it has the power of the Google matrix. Great way to look up publications online.
  • Internet Public Library : It's exactly what it sounds like. Check it out.
  • EU online : The EU's official web site, in 20 languages.
  • World Radio Online: AWESOME site. This site binds together radio feeds from all over the world. There is years worth of radio transmissions here!
  • Lonely Planet: Are you planning to travel? Or are just interested in going somewhere? This is the site to go to.
  • Online Dictionary: Pick your language and ask away. Be wary though, some dictionaries are better than others...
  • Online Encyclopedia of Comic Authors from around the World: I know, awesome.
  • CIA's World Factbook: Very well done; as expected from the CIA.
  • Ethnologue Languages of the World: Looking for a place to get international books? Look no further. (Unless, of course, Amazon.)
  • Answers.com: It's about time they made a site that just gave you answers, even if you not asking a question. (Hint: Throw your language into the "Tell me about" and see what it pulls up. Don't forget to scroll down and check out the links it'll find for you!)
  • Wikipedia: Same concept as Answers.com. So if you can't find it above, try here...or vice versa. In fact, no matter which one you go to they'll end up re-routing you to the other.
  • Alternative Dictionaries: "Slang, profanities, insults and vulgarisms from all the world." That's all the intro it needs.
  • SEELRC (Slavic and Eastern European Language Resource Center): Do you like lots of information about Slavic languages and culture? Yes? Come on in.
  • ECAI (Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative): You must have Java to run this site. So if you don't have it, get it, because this site is cool-tastic. Historical trade paths, battle routes, empire boundaries, cultural boundaries, and more are shown in both animated and map form from all over Asia.
  • International Children's Digital Library: Children's books and reading tools in 20+ languages; the site itself can be searched in 9 different languages. Very cool.
  • Kidcomics.com: Flash comics in German, English, French, and Dutch. How multi-culturally hilarious!
  • STELLA: FREE beginning lessons for English, German, Italian, Hungarian, and Danish. (Must Register (free) and have pop-ups enabled). (New)
  • Keyboard Help : Google recommends this site! Diacritics for Mac/PC, html, and more. Check it out! (New)
