Graduate Media Assistant Project Cycle
Project Proposed
The project must involve foreign language-related courses and instructional
media. Multimedia might include one or a combination of media types:
- images
- graphics
- audio
- video
- satellite
- computers
A description of the project will:
- detail the project's instructional purpose
- contain a brief plan of action, an indication of how achieving this
purpose will be measured (formative and summative evaluation is encouraged)
- outline a timeline (see proposal
form).

LRC Approval
On approval of a project, the LRC will issue a written commitment. This
will include:
- project summary
- funding amount
- outline of joint (faculty/GMA/LRC) obligations.

Development and Implementation
LRC staff are available for consultation and assistance throughout the
project cycle. We anticipate at least four meetings will occur between
the faculty developer, the GMA and LRC staff: 1) early in the planning/preparation
stage; 2) just prior to implementation; 3) during implementation; and
4) at project closure.

Project Completion
Requests and plans for revision or extension should be submitted by the
original project closure date. A project evaluation,
outlining the scope of the project, student outcomes, and its impact on
the GMA and faculty developer should be submitted upon completion of the
project. A copy of project documentation and materials
developed should be provided to the LRC for archival purposes. Interim
evaluations may be requested on projects extending beyond one academic
year.

Dissemination
GMA's and faculty developers will be asked to present project
reports or demonstrate instructional resources
for the language community. These presentations may take the form of casual
roundtable discussions or open house poster sessions sponsored by the
LRC.
