Last Updated: February 12, 2009 ITCS Exchange Mobile Device SupportExchange connectivity is available for many smart phones and wireless devices. Most commonly, these devices support over the air two way synchronization of at least e-mail and calendar items. Some offer more or less. Some platforms have native support and are free; others require additional components and servers and may have a fee attached to them. Support for connectivity of these devices is categorized by platform OS and connectivity software rather than by device or wireless carrier. In each category, there are dozens of vendors, models and wireless carrier options. Exchange ActiveSyncExchange Active Sync is part of Exchange Server and is natively supported by Windows Mobile devices such as Pocket PC Phones, Pocket PCs and some Palm devices. BlackBerry Enterprise Service for ExchangeITCS provides BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) service for Exchange. E-mail, calendar, and contacts can be synced with a BlackBerry device through this service from an Exchange mailbox on the ITCS Exchange servers or the Ross School (School of Business) Exchange server. How to Order Use the BlackBerry Enterprise Service form to request an account. You will need to provide the user's name and uniqname, the department to bill, and the shortcode to charge. The user will receive an activation password via e-mail, at the uniqname you provide. Cost

Users can receive help with setup and use of Exchange on their BlackBerry phones by calling IMAPExchange supports any kind of secure IMAP client for access to Exchange e-mail only.
