ITCS LAN/NOS Groupware Services

This page contains information about products and services provided by the LAN/NOS and Groupware Services (LNGS) team. LNGS is a group within ITCS that provides leadership for the U-M campus community in the selection, adoption, deployment, and integration of Network Operating Systems and Groupware products. LNGS maintains the production operation of selected services that support the campus community. For more information, choose one of the links in left column of this page.

Novell

The university's campus-wide Academic License Agreement (ALA) with Novell ended June 30, 2009, and ITCS discontinued support of the Novell infrastructure. Any unit, department, or individual using Novell software through the university's license must remove the software from all equipment.

MyServer

The MyServer file service has been migrated to the campus CIFS solution. The CIFS service provides Windows-compatible file space on a robust file server appliance, while allowing department staff to create and manage user access to the file space.

Windows

The campus Windows/Active Directory environment offers another campus infrastructure that units can leverage to provide their own services to their users.

Exchange

The ITCS Exchange Service gives campus units the option of providing a rich, integrated email/calendaring experience to their users.

Connected Backup

Connected Backup Service from ITCS provides regularly scheduled, automatic, secure backup and easy-to-manage disaster recovery for individual faculty and staff computers. It also works for small-scale servers. Contact your department's IT administrator about ordering this service.
