U-M Windows Central Accounts Project
Future Enhancements to U-M Windows Central Accounts
During the pilot phase of web development, a number of suggestions were gathered to improve the functionality of the U-M Windows Central Accounts web applications. We are always open to suggestions for improvement, which may be sent to w2k-support@umich.edu. Here is a tentative list of improvements under consideration for phase 2 of this development project.
- Currently, when administrators of large umbrella OUs (such as LSA) need to move a user from one delegated OU to another, they must first move the user to the People OU, and then back to the new delegated OU. We would like to simplify this process by allowing a limited group of umbrella OU administrators to move users directly between OUs under their jurisdiction.
- When processing multiple exception requests, the OU administrator receives a separate email for each request. It has been suggested that a single email to the administrator listing all exception requests would make it easier to track the requests.
- To make it easy for an OU administrator to track exception requests, we would like to create an application that summarizes the status of all exception requests for a specified delegated OU.
- Certain human-factor aspects of the CA web applications could use some tweaking, including timeout handling, "enter" key behavior, and "back" button behavior.
