Learning/Study Styles

Did you know that you learn information in different ways, or how you are most effective at assimilating this information? In order to find ways to study more effectively, you first need to understand how you learn. Take one or more of the following Learning Style assessments to determine what type of learner you are and how best to adapt the class and your studying habits to most effectively learn and understand the material.  Then take one or more of the Study Habits assessments to determine which study habits may be weak for you.

Learning Style Assessments

Four Learning Styles
Learn about the four different learning styles (visual/verbal, visual/non-verbal, tactile/kinesthetic, auditory/verbal) at Diablo Valley College’s site and then discover your learning style by taking their 32 question self-assessment tool.  This information can be found at: http://www.metamath.com/lsweb/dvclearn.htm

Learning Preference
Determine your learning preference (active/reflective, sensing/intuitive, visual/verbal, sequential global) based on your responses to 44 questions.  The assessment can be found at North Carolina State University’s website: http://www.engr.ncsu.edu/learningstyles/ilsweb.html
