The LSO draws its musicians from the University of Michigan Life Sciences community. Members enjoy the opportunity to interact with colleagues from many different units of the life sciences campus while pursuing musical excellence. Our music director is Oriol Sans, a doctoral student in conducting at the U-M School of Music. For our current roster of musicians, click here.

All LSO members are expected to audition. Typically, we are able to take all string players, whereas positions for wind players are competitive. If you are interested in joining the LSO, complete the online questionnaire for prospective musicians - your information will be entered into the LSO database, allowing us to inform you of opportunities to audition or join.
