  • Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. was founded in December 1975 by 17 Founding Mothers at Kean College in Union, New Jersey.
  • It was the first Latina sorority founded in the nation.

  • Lambda Theta Alpha was the first sorority ever created to cater towards the needs of Latinas in the nation.
  • Lambda Theta Alpha is one of the founders of the Concilio Nacional de Hermandades Latinas (CNHL).
  • Lambda Theta Alpha has an established Alumni Association.
  • Lambda Theta Alpha has an established Graduate Chapter.
  • Lambda Theta Alpha has established chapters throughout New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Maryland, Florida, Puerto Rico, California, Texas, Arizona, Illinois, Tennessee and New Mexico.
