Sigma Alumnus Bill Hall Recieves the Bert F. Wertman Alumni Service Award from the Ross School of Business.

Established in 1989, this award recognizes an alumnus or alumna of the Ross School of Business for outstanding service to the School and/or to the University. The award was established in honor of Bert F. Wertman, who served for more than 60 years as President of the Class of 1928. Through his leadership and caring, the class remained a cohesive and vital group and held a record number of continuous reunions.

William (Bill) Hall, MBA '67, PhD '69, is the Co-Founder and Chairman & CEO of Procyon Technologies, Inc., a Chicago-based holding company focused on the acquisition and growth of suppliers to the global aerospace and defense industry.

Prior to his work at Procyon Technologies, Inc., Hall was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Falcon Building Products, Inc., a $1.1 billion manufacturer and distributor of products for the residential and commercial construction and home improvement markets. He also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Industries, Inc., a privately held $2 billion diversified manufacturing company founded by Chicago investor, Sam Zell. Additionally, he served as the CEO of both Eagle and Falcon and he also served as a Partner at Equity Group Corporate Investments, Mr. Zell's private-equity group.

During the 1970's, Mr. Hall served as a Professor of Business Administration on the faculties of the University of Michigan Business School, the Harvard Business School and the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD). Hall returned and is currently an adjunct faculty member at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also chairs the Ross School Visiting Committee.

Bill Hall was initiated into Lambda Chi Alpha during his time as an Undergraduate at the the University of Michigan. Over the last 40 years, he has been one our most loyal supporters. Recently, he sponsored the first Homecoming at our Chapter House at 1601 Washtenaw since our reoccupation of it in 2004. Bill has also been a major contributor to the Alumni Association its Scholarship and Furniture Fund.
