What is MACS?

The Michigan Association of Communication Studies (MACS) is a student organization at the University of Michigan for people who -- are communication studies majors, want to be communication studies majors, or are even the slightest bit interested in communication studies and all that it entails. We are student-run and supported by the Communications Studies Department, helping students with communications related fields and studies. Contact us for more information!

Mission

• To explore career and internship opportunities in public relations, advertising broadcasting, marketing, journalism, and other media professions while forging relationships with other students with similar interests.
• To offer numerous recruitment events and industry speakers that give students the chance to meet and learn from successful people in the field of communications.
• To schedule workshops and advising resources to allow concentrators to gain student assistance and advice on a diverse array of topics including (but not limited to) Communications courses, professors, and requirements.
