This class/practica is intended for intermediate and advanced level dancers who are serious about developing and broadening the scope of their dance. Participants should be able to demonstrate a mastery of concepts that were taught at the intermediate level.
Class format will be primarily exploratory based. The session will begin with exercises to improve technique and balance. Next a general topic/concept will be introduced briefly and students will have the opportunity to explore the nuances, intricacies and variations of this concept in a practica format. Class material/concepts will be challenging and necessitate an understanding of basic tango elements such as sacadas, fundamentals of the turn, giros, boleos, musicality and some experience with ganchos. The fundamentals of how to execute these elements will not be the focal point rather the class will begin to expand on different and unique ways to use these elements in the dance.
This practica will be limited to a maximum of 7 couples. Interested participants will be asked to sign up with a partner. If you have questions about your ability to participate in these classes, please consult your intermediate-level instructors.
