About MCGrads

Hello. We've put a lot into this website to try to give you a good understanding of Michigan Christian Grads (MCGrads). Hopefully many of your questions will be answered. First off, we pronounce MCGrads as "EmCeeGrads" — not McGrads (small "c") like the hamburger restaurant.

MCGrads is for Masters, Ph.D. and Professional School graduate students at the University of Michigan.

We endeavor to stimulate and support each other to live out authentically and communicate meaningfully our faith in the midst of the university. We value and promote:

• Authentic Community
• Relevant Faith
• Real Ministry

While most grads who are now involved are single, there have also been marrieds, those with children, students of color, international students, and post-docs involved. We're very active on campus. You are welcome to participate to whatever extent you desire.

MCGrads is sponsored by Grad Resources, the graduate student ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, and a part of the expanding University Christian Grads (UCGrads) nationwide network of graduate student ministries. Grad Resources Staff at U-M provide coordination for MCGrads. You can read more about them at the "MCGrads Staff" page.

As you look through the website, you'll see MCGrads provides many opportunities for your benefit, including:

• GradLife Mixer/Bible Studies • Parties and Sports • One-to-One Spiritual Mentoring/Discipleship • Prayer Together • Campus-wide and Individual Outreach • Resource Materials • Ministry Philosophy and Skills Training • Athletic Events • Day and Overnight Retreats • Reading/Discussion Groups • International Mission Trips • Internships • Full-time Staff • and much more.

It doesn't all happen simultaneously, so the best way to be kept informed when things are upcoming is to subscribe to the MCGrads group email list to receive the weekly emails called the "Update." You can do that in the Communication section of this website.

If you would like to check out one of our weekly meetings, come sometime to a Sunday evening GradLife Mixer/Meeting. It's a comfortable way to meet grad students from across campus, be challenged spiritually, and learn more about MCGrads. Be sure to look at the GradLife Mixer/Meeting description in the Authentic Community section.

Thanks for visiting the MCGrads website. It would be great to meet you sometime.
