1. GradLife
Mixer/Meeting is again in the Whitney Auditorium of the School of Education
Building (SEB), starting at 7:30 pm. At 8:00 pm Chuck Roeper (M.Div,
Ph.D.) will continue the series from the book of Daniel this Friday
speaking on "Feeling Outta Control in Grad School" After the
meeting, we'll stay in the Whitney Auditorium for a time of playing
board games and cards. And, of course, we'll have light refreshments
and you can order pizza if you want.
2. Men's
and Women's Bible Studies are now forming and will start next week.
(1) MEN: This Tuesday evening, Sept 13 at 8:00 pm, in the Student Lounge
of the School of Education we'll have an informational meeting about
the Men's Bible Studies. We can figure out times and groups and set
plans to start next week. (2) WOMEN: There will be women's groups Monday,
Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, starting next week. By Friday of this
week, send to Dianne Roeper your first and second evening preference
and your department. You will receive information about your group this
weekend, so please check you email.
3. We're
going hiking this Saturday, September 17, to Lyndon Park about 15 miles
west of Ann Arbor. The park is one of Washtenaw County's most significant
nature preserves. There are 335 acres of forest, lakes, swamps, marshes,
and meadows. The 2 mile hiking trail weaves through it all. Should be
a fun time and a great day outside (remember, snow will be here in November).
Details about times and driving and what to bring will be given out
at GradLife this Friday and we may send a separate email via the Update
list later this week.
