The Michigan Center for Theoretical Physics (MCTP) has been created with the goal of promoting research in theoretical physics, with a special emphasis on interdisciplinary studies. To help achieve this goal, we should like to invite members of the University community with an interest in theoretical physics or related areas to participate. University of Michigan faculty can apply for Full Membership by completing the appropriate form. Full members have voting rights, can sponsor workshops and conferences, and can serve on the Executive Committee of MCTP. Applications for Full Membership must be approved by a majority vote of current Full Members. Associate membership is open to all members of the University of Michigan community with an interest in the Center's activities, subject to approval of the Director and the Executive Committee. Associate members can participate in Center activities, but do not have voting rights. The bylaws of the Center are attached. We hope that you will indicate your interest in MCTP by filling out and returning one of the attached application forms.
Eligibility for Full Membership: Full Members must be faculty at the University of Michigan. The Full Membership will automatically include all theoretical physics faculty (so defined by the Physics Department). Non theoretical physics faculty may apply for Full Membership by completing the appropriate form. Applications will be approved by the Director and the Executive Committee.
Eligibility for Associate Membership: Associate Membership is open to others who have an interest in the Center's activities, on completion of a simple request form and subject to approval by the Director and the Executive Committee. Associate Membership is for a three year term which is renewable.
