Brown Bags

Mediation Services provides "Brown Bag" educational presentations for work-groups or teams interested in learning more about conflict management. The one-hour presentations, currently free of charge, are available to any faculty/staff group or unit upon request. They are provided at your site and are frequently scheduled for a lunch hour or as a staff development session.

Handling Confrontation & Conflict
Learn useful responses when someone else is upset. Identify strategies to handle conflict productively when a co-worker confronts you or even hints they are upset. Methods to handle immediate or unexpected confrontations more comfortably leading to a satisfactory outcome are provided.

Understanding Conflict 101
Explore your own style of handling conflict and learn different styles that can be useful in dealing with conflict. Emphasis will be on the benefits of collaborative problem solving as an approach to conflict resolution.


Becoming a Conflict-Savvy Team
All work teams experience some tension and disagreement. This presentation describes creative conflict management tools for successful teams. We will describe guidelines that work to channel disagreement into healthy energy and achievement.
