Several times both semesters, MedRhythms holds a free style instrument circle for inpatients at the Mott*s Children*s Hospital, with the help of music therapist Robert Huffman. Medical students enjoy showing the children how to play the instruments and playing interactive musical games with them. There are approximately 5 medical students at each drum circle and the amount of patients in attendance varies from just a few to many, depending on the amount of patient interest on the days we are there. You do not need any musical talent to participate, just a desire to help kids have fun while they might be going through some tough times.
