Responsibilities Include:

Qualifications Include:
GS-14: Candidate must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level.
A. Basic Requirements: Degree: major study in an academic field related to the health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position.
B. Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study or specific course requirements generally as stated in paragraph A in the individual occupational requirements.
Where specific course requirements are not indicated in paragraph A, the number of semester hours required to constitute a major field of study is the amount specified by the college or university attended. If this number cannot be obtained, 24 semester hours will be considered as equivalent to a major field of study. The nature and quality of this required course work must have been such that it would serve as a prerequisite for more advanced study in the field or subject-matter area. Related course work generally refers to courses that may be accepted as part of the program major.

The incumbent is responsible for the planning format and input for all sections of the WMP's. These positions are located in the Division of Interpretation and Visitor Services at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. The incumbents are responsible for a wide variety of interpretive and visitor service duties. The Engineering and Analysis Division has the sole responsibility for developing, proposing, and promulgating effluent limitations, guidelines, new source performance standards and pretreatment standards for industrial point source discharges; assuring the adequacy and validity of scientific, economic and technical data and findings used as support for the effluent limitations and standards; gathering, developing and analyzing data and background information basic to the annual
review and periodic revisions of the limitations and standards; and developing technical information required by the judicial review and periodic revisions of the limitations and standards.
Responsibilities Include:
- The incumbent provides technical advice and assistance in the engineering aspects of water use and wastewater treatment in an industrial or commercial setting. Incumbent uses existing engineering theories and concepts but, based on personal experience in related situations, has to modify them to meet specific project assignments. The incumbent monitors and directs EAD's contractors in performing engineering support to EAD. This may include reviewing contractor deliverables overseeing the contractor in the collection of data and identifying discrepancies in contractor's technical reports. The incumbent shall review and evaluate data and information and write background papers summarizing these data. The incumbent shall assist in preparing and presenting briefings to management and external groups. The incumbent consults with EAD's contractors, outside vendors and industry representatives on the latest design and developments as they affect a particular industry, and determines what waste control practices are currently available. The incumbent consults and coordinates with other engineers and scientists both in EPA and other agencies who are considered experts in incumbent's specialty areas. Participates in meetings or conferences within the Agency; and helps plan cooperative activities and devise concerted approaches to problems.
Qualifications Include:
- Experience or knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and practices that can be applied to water programs. Experience writing plans, proposals, program materials related to environmental engineering/scientific issues. Experience that demonstrates skills in applying knowledge of engineering to solve environmental problems.

- The incumbent is responsible for determining compliance of inspected facilities with the Clean Water Act.
- He/She works as a member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for determining compliance by individuals or organizations having air, water, and solid waste pollution sources, who are suspected of violating applicable civil and criminal provisions of environmental statutes or regulations.
