Wolverines Demolish Bears 20-6
CCLA Win Streak Improves to 28
Ann Arbor,
Mich. -- The 2nd ranked Michigan men’s lacrosse team had no trouble
tonight dispatching with the Washington University Bears in a CCLA matchup
that extended the Wolverines’ conference win streak to 28. 12 different
players scored, and everyone who dressed played, as Michigan cruised to the
20-6 win.
Michigan outshot the Bears 18-2 in the first quarter, which helped
build a 6-0 lead after one. All six Michigan goals were scored by different
players.
Washington managed to put three on the board in the second, but the
Wolverines put up seven more of their own as they built a commanding 13-3
halftime lead.
In the second half Michigan head coach John Paul emptied the
bench and slowed the pace. A 4-0 third made it 17-3 and an even fourth made
the final 20-6. With the win, Michigan improves to 10-1 and 4-0 in the CCLA.
Washington falls to 5-3 overall and in the CCLA.

half and recorded 3 saves, while allowing 3 goals. Jeremy Menkowitz
(Fort Washington, PA/Germantown Academy) played the second half, allowing 3
goals and making 6 saves. Washington’s Aaron Altose and Brad Jagher combined
for 17 saves and 20 goals against.

Wolverines added 2 apiece.
The Wolverines host #3 Brigham Young University tomorrow night at

national champions.
QUOTES
UM Head Coach John Paul
On playing everyone…”We really upgraded our schedule this year, so
unlike past years when we’ve had plenty of games where everyone can play,
this year we struggle to find time for everyone. It was great to see some of
the young guys step up and do some good things.”
On BYU tomorrow…”We probably won’t have Tommy (Burns) back yet, but
they are banged up as well. Either way, it’s going to take our best game of
the year to beat them, but I have a feeling we’re finally ready to step up.
It’s going to be an intense game. I really feel it’s a turning point for
us.”
