ANN ARBOR, Mich.-- Sophomore midfielder Kevin Toller (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) was named Player of the Week in the CCLA this week for his efforts against Oakland University and the University of California. On Friday night, Toller scored 3 goals against the 9th ranked Golden Bears in Michigan's 17-8 victory. A 20 goal scorer last year, Toller had not broken out of an early season scoring slump this season until Friday's outburst. He had scored only 2 goals through 4 games to that point. He also continued his domination at the faceoff X against Cal, winning 19 faceoffs and losing only 3.
On Saturday night against Oakland Toller won 19 faceoffs for the second straight night, this time losing only 4 times. He also exploded for 5 points on 4 goals and 1 assist.
Toller, a preseason Honorable Mention USLIA All-American, has compiled an incredible .784 faceoff percentage to this point in the season. He has also contributed 9 goals and 2 assists. |
